What is this, a running blog or something?
Well, Monday and Wednesday were Body Pump days so Thursday was my 5 mile run. It was 20 degrees out with 30 mph winds so I opted for the treadmill. I could handle the 20 degrees, but I could not handle the wind.
I get bored just running on the hampster wheel with no structured "plan" so I decided to do some interval training/speed work. I started off with 1 mile at 7.0. Then I went up and down (something like this..) 7.5, 8.0, 7.5, 7, 6.5, 7, 7.5, 8, 7.5, 7, 6.5, 7, and then 1 mile at 7.0 for an average of a 8:28 Pace. That 8.0 was rough!
It felt hard, but treadmill running always does, especially when its a speed workout.
Not used to running inside, such a sweaty run!
I think I have forgotten what shorts feel like.....
Not only did I use my parents treadmill but I stuck around for dinner. Baked salmon, sweet potatoes, and a side salad. Delicious and healthy meal that I did not have to buy, or make.
Win Win
After my run I took some advil and iced my ankle.
It has been feeling off lately and it's my tendonitis ankle so I try to ice it and stretch it a lot.
Really trying to pre proactive this go around.
I wanted a dessert but options were limited at the parents house, so I decided on a baked apple. I cored out the inside, and stuffed the inside with granola, pecans, cinnamon, and sugar. Baked it at 325 for 45 minutes and it is delicious.
Finally I was home, showered, and in bed with the critters. Another run done and ready for my long run weekend.
16 mile run this weekend.... Gulp!
