BeUtahFall

Growing up in New England, you really take a certain sort of pride in Fall.  Like Fall... psh that season is owned by New Englanders.  No one can foliage like Vermont and New Hampshire right?  Well, I too had this mindset, which sort of comes with the territory when you spend your whole life living in New England (loud and proud).  While my beloved northern east coast does have a spectacular fall, I was really surprised at just how awesome fall is out here.

I moved to Utah in the end of August, 2015 and oddly enough, don't really remember much of fall last year.  It was probably due to the fact that I was transplanting 2,200 miles away from all I knew, and was just getting into the grove of being  student again.  Big life changes kind of have a way to make you clueless to everything else going on around you.  Somehow, I seemed to miss an entire season, and to be honest, my favorite one. My goal this year was to be more present in everything I do, and it must have worked.  This fall really smacked me in the face with its beauty and color.  The reds, oranges and yellows out here in the American West are a special form of Crazy Beautiful.  And while Vermont is still at the top of my leaf peeping list, the Utah aspens in the fall are a very very close second.

With our clocks and our mindsets adopting to "fall back" and the time change, now is the perfect time to reflect on a beautiful Utah Fall.  The days are getting shorter and the nights are getting colder, but these pictures will keep you smiling even when it gets dark at 4:30 pm.

  1. Nice. I lived in the DC area for two years - went to all the museums every weekend and took family that was visiting there. I used know a lot of secrets for getting around and special things you could do at each place. 7 years later I've forgotten most of them! Surprisingly, DC is where I start my hiking adventures in Great Falls NP!
