Dog-Friendly Vacation Rentals and Guides

It was one of those weeks that just dragged on and in true New England fashion, the weather was all over the place.  Monday was 70 degrees sunshine and everything amazing about spring but it just went downhill from there.  45-50 degrees and raining has been the theme of the end of the week.  Luckily, warmer weather is on the horizon and I have some amazing trips coming up ranging from long weekends in California to camping trips here in New England.  Lets talk about vacations, shall we?

Today's post is the last in my "everything-dog-friendly" series and I have to say it's a good one. Today I am collaborating with Tripping.com to talk about vacation planning with your pooch.  Spoiler:  Trying to find dog friendly lodging just got a whole lot easier.

If you know me, you know I just about bring my dog everywhere.  Matter of fact, Olive is one of the most well-traveled dogs I know.  She has dipped her paws in the Atlantic and the Pacific, and about 100 different rivers and lakes in between.  She's been to more National Parks than a lot of people I know. Olive has seen for herself what the Golden Gate Bridge looks like on a sunny June afternoon and has watched the sunrise over Cadillac Mountain in Maine with her best boxer friend. My dog has been to freakin Napa Valley.

A lot of the times, our travels end at a campsite and there aren't any issues with trying to find dog-friendly accommodations.  But sometimes (as in the case of my California and Oregon trips) we forgo the camping for the luxuries of king sized beds and air conditioning.

When this happens, it's a struggle of finding a dog friendly house/hotel that isn't going to cost a fortune.  And let's be honest, a lot of the dog friendly lodging can be on the... dumpier side.  When I travel I usually stick to Motel 6's because I know they are ALL dog friendly without crazy pet fees which can range as high as $50 per DAY and usually have weight restrictions.  Motel 6's can be hit or miss, as in they can be newly renovated or on the dumpier side and let's be honest, its nice to splurge once in a while.

Tripping.com is your solution to the "where do I stay with my dog" problem that all of travel loving dog owners face.  Instead of searching sites one by one, Tripping.com allows you to search top sites with easy to check filters like "Pet friendly" lodging.
